About Marsstein
Marsstein is a International AI startup building the infrastructure layer for regulatory compliance automation.
Our platform uses AI agents and large language models to help companies navigate regulations like GDPR and the EU AI Act — automatically generating compliance documents, analyzing legal risks, and searching EU case law.
We're a small team where every contribution matters. As an intern, you won't be doing busywork — you'll ship real features to a real product.
What You Could Work On
Depending on your interests and skills, you'll pick up tasks across our platform:
- Build backend APIs for AI-powered compliance tools
- Improve our AI agent system that researches and generates legal documents
- Work on search and retrieval over legal databases
- Develop frontend features for our compliance dashboard
- Integrate new regulatory data sources
- Write tests and participate in code reviews
You don't need to know all of this on day one. We'll onboard you and help you grow into the stack.

Thesis Topics
If you're writing your Bachelor or Master thesis, we could offer topics grounded in real systems — not toy problems:
- Multi-agent orchestration for legal analysis
- Retrieval strategies for legal document search (RAG)
- Knowledge graph construction from regulatory text
- LLM evaluation for compliance accuracy
- Cross-jurisdictional regulatory mapping
What We're Looking For
Must have:
- Studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, or similar
- Solid programming skills in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Basic understanding of how LLMs work
- Comfortable with Git
- Good English communication (German is a plus)
Nice to have (not required):
- Experience with FastAPI, React, or Next.js
- Familiarity with Docker
- Interest in NLP, information retrieval, or legal tech
