Frequently asked questions
Is the blur reversible?+
No. The mosaic destroys the underlying pixels; the original values are not recoverable from the output. Raw footage is processed in the EU and deleted per retention agreement.
Does anonymization break my training data?+
No. Only detected face/plate regions are modified. Resolution, frame rate, container structure, timestamps, and all non-video channels (CAN, GPS, lidar topics in MCAP) pass through untouched.
How do you prove coverage?+
Every batch runs an automated readability audit: we try to OCR plates and match faces on the output. The measured leak rate ships with the delivery report.
How does the cross-border transfer actually work?+
After anonymization, the output is replicated server-side between cloud regions (EU → Hong Kong, mainland China, US, or wherever your team sits) — no laptops, no VPNs, no manual copies. Every file is checksum-verified after transfer, and a delivery guard refuses to ship anything that lacks a matching anonymization audit record. You can receive the data in a Marsstein-managed bucket or directly in your own cloud account (Alibaba, Tencent, AWS, GCP).
Can it run inside our infrastructure?+
Yes — the pipeline deploys into your cloud account or on your own GPU servers; footage never has to touch Marsstein-managed infrastructure.
